Winter Scene

I really like this picture of this winter scene because of it glowing nature it has to it. It looks so natural and real. The was the sun shines down on the pond and gives it a shine is a very heart warming scene. I like how the snow covers the branches just right. The houses in the background add a nice touch to the scene. This is one of the things I love about winter. The way the snow decorates the surrounding makes it look so beautiful everywhere and I love that. If everyday could look like this it would be perfect.

What I like and don't like about the winter season

I have many likes and dislikes toward Christmas. I like being able to go sledding and play out in the snow. When I come inside from the cold I love drinking hot chocolate and feel the hot rush run down my throat. It feels so soothing. As to having some likes about winter, I also have many dislikes. I don't like it that much because it is so cold. Everywhere you go you have to worry about putting a coat on so you aren't freezing. When it snows I don't like how it get everywhere and inside my shoes. One of my favorite past childhood memories from when I was younger, was when one day it was snowing and my brother and sister and I all went outside and went sledding and we stayed out and played for hours. We built a snowman, a fort, and made snow angles. When we came inside we changed into nice warm clothes, sat by the fire, and drank hot chocolate.

Experience with the Newscast project

My experience with the Newscast project was very interesting. I liked it because it was a challenge and introduced to me something I have never done before. The one thing I did not like doing though, was theediting because I would have to see myself speaking over and over again, and it became embarassing. I liked working with my partner. She was very helpful when it came to the editing part. If I could, I would want to restart the project all over and fix everything to be the right way and be more prepared. Over all, I thought this was a fun project and I would enjoy doing it again someday.

Political Cartoon

The reason I chose this political cartoon is because I love the reason why it is making fun of Sarah Palin. In this political cartoon, the Democratic party is making fun of Palin since the Republicans spent $150,000 on the clothing for her campaign.

Invention

I would want to make a time machine. I think it would be a great idea to invent a time machine so people can go back in time and fix there mistakes. The time machine would go back in time at the most 10 years in the person's life. It would be made out of metal and steel on the outides, and inside it would have pink squishy walls and lights all around. the floors would be hard wood floors and I'd put pink rugs all around. The time machine would have beanbags as chairs, and have computers and televisions all around. the outside color would also be hot pink. To me, this sounds like the perfect invention that I would want to make if I could.

Newscast project

For my news cast project I have chosen to speak about fashion. I chose this topic because it is one of my favorite things and I it is something I could take about for hours and not get bored. I am writing on the new fashions for this year. While doing this report I have been learning things about it I have'nt known before. One of the most interesting things I have learned is how many different designers are out there and what each of there collection looks like.

Inspirational picture

I have chosen this picture because I have been raised to be a leader and I try to be the best I can be. This picture speaks for itself. I choose to take the path less followed and I'm willing to make decisions that help me progress in life, regardless of how dificult they may be. Sometimes being a leader can be lonley, though the rewards that come ahead are worth the price. Leadership takes discipline and a commitment to always trying to make the best choices in life.

Feelings toward my upcoming Report Card

I am looking forward to seeing my upcoming report card because I have worked very hard this grading period and I believe I deserve what I get. I don't think my parents are going to Report Card night because they are busy, but I wish they would because I would like to know what my teachers think of me and my behavior in class. I think my parents would be very proud of what my teachers have to say. I try my best in class and on my work. I think Peer Tutoring could be a good way to help improve students who are getting low grades, or to students who feel like it would help them keep their good grade up in a class if they are working on something hard.

Biggest life lesson

One big life lesson I learned is that know matter what it is for, always work hard for what you want and never take the easy way. An experiance I had was when I had a bad report card one year and that is when I got the wake up call that I need to actually try harder and create study habits. Then after that little wakeup call, I created some study habits and have had a better grades ever since.

podcast

This week in computers we have been working on a podcast of our favorite scary moive. Personaly I do not like scary movies at all so I don't have a favorite and I don't watch them much. When I was thinking of scary movi I have seen and was wanting to pick I picked The Grudge. To me it is one of the most scariest movies I've seen. I am doing well on my podcast so far. IO have my script typed out and all I need to do is record it. I am a little nervous about doing that because I don't want to mess up . 10 things I want to do in my lifetime

The number one thing I want to do is visit Paris because I have heard that it is absolutley beautiful and it reminds me of such a romantic place. The second thing I would want to do in my lifetime would have to be spending a whole day with the Jonas Brothers. They are by far my favorite band and they are absolute cuties. :) The third thing I want to do is fly in a hot air balloon. I think it would amazing to be up high, with the wind blowing fresh air, and seeing the world around me. The fourth thing I want to do is be on t.v. When I was younger I use to be in commercials but then my mom took me out of it because she didn't want to keep driving to Chicago and I would love to go back and start doing it again. When I am older I want to take over my dad's buisness in finance because you have a social life as well as working hard; that is my fifth thing I want to do in my lifetime. The sixth thing I want to do is go to Las Vegas again because when I went last year with my dad I had a blast. This time I want to go with my mom though because it is more fun to shop with her. Bungee jumping is the seventh thing I want to do. Everytime I see someone doing it I wish I could do it because it looks so fun. The eighth thing I want to do is to be able to do my splits all three ways. It sounds like a silly thing to do but it is something I want to accomplish. I can do my right splits but I would like to get the other two ways. My nineth thing I want to do is learn to play the piano. Right now I am too busy to learn but it just seems like such a peaceful instrument to learn. The last thing I want to do is to stay in Michael Jordan's house again. I stayed there with my family for a week a couple years ago in Mexico and i really enjoyed it. It was a once in a life time experiance but I would love to do it again.

Community Logo

Since we are not yet of age to vote for president, one of our assignments was to go to http://logopeoria.com/ and vote for our favorite logo that we would like our city to have. The logo I voted for was the logo that said Peoria in all capital letters, and at the bottm of it said est. 1825. The lettering is in between two lines. The picture is set in the far background and is a ligh maroon color that kind of looks like a brown. I like how it was 3-D look to it.

Favorite Halloween costume from my childhood

My favorite Halloween costume from my childhood is when I dressed up as cinderella. She was my role model when I was little because to me she was so pretty and I wanted to look like her. I had wore this costume for Halloween when I was seven years old and in first grade. I rember going to the store and yelling at my mom that that was the costume I wanted. I don't remember if this costume helped to me get more candy, but I would of hoped it did because I looked like a princess and a princess deserves what ever she wants. :) I want to dress up this year but I don't know what I would be. I don't quite remember what my most successful trick-or-treating year was but I think it was when I was little.

iPhoto Project

Hey everyone. In class last week and this, we have been working on our iPhoto projects. We are suppose to find objects that look like letters in our name. My iPhoto project is taking a little longer than I wanted it to, because I have difficult letters in my name to find objects that look like them. I like this project though, because it is very interesting. I have never really thought about what objects look like the letters in my name. The coolest one I found today was the eiffel tower. I loved the idea. I am glad we are getting the chance to work with these programs and explore them, you never know whats gana come up in the future and u might have to know how to use something.

Progress on current project

This week in class we have been working on a newsletter. We just finished in class today and I feel that it was a big success. Allison and Mallorey wrote a page together and Molly and I wrote one together. Then, we each wrote a column. I wrote mine about our homecoming pep rally that was turned out amazing. This project was a little difficult but not much. I had fun taking pictures with Molly in between making our newsletter. I enjoyed this project alot because it was a group project and forced us to work together, therefor, I met new people that I have never talked to befor and I found out a little bit about them. In the future I look forward to maybe working with them again.

physical fitness/athletic future for myself

As I have grown up I have learned how my body works and what I need to do to stay in shape and have good health. I don't do the best of job and I know there are probably a couple of things I could work on to improve it. As of right now i am busy almost every night of the week. On mondays I have cheerleading right after school, then go to dance. Tuesday, I have tumbaling that is very intense. Wednesday I have cheerleading right after school, then I go to my dance academy and teach 3 tumbaling classes then I dance until 10. Thursday and friday are my only night off during the week and on saturday I usually have to cheer at a football game. In my free time at home I try to go on the elliptical and jumprope fro good exercise. I eat as healthy as I can and have a few snacks every now and again. I hope to improve my fitness by working out at hoe more and eating healthier.

Newsletter

For my class we have a new project which consists of having a group of 3 to 4 people and making a newsletter. We each get to choose a topic containing information about homecoming week. My topic I have to write a section of the letter about is class color day. My class color is red. I am very excited to start this project and to see what everyone comes up with for their creative ideas. The people in my group are allison, mallory, molly, and I. I belive this project will be a little difficalt but fun while doing it. Tomorrow is tuesday and it is my day to take picture on the class color, so I am looking forward to walking around taking pictures all day. :)

intellectual goals

As a student I have many intellectual goals for myself. I plan on having A's and B's all through highschool and college. I plan on keeping with my good study habits to maintain these grades. As to right now, my study habits contain to coming straight home after any after-school activety, sitting down at the kitchen counter, and studying for at least 2 hours without any electronics near me. This year I am working hard to get a car because I will turn 16 over the summer and my grades depend on what type of car I will get. At home my parents have my siblings and I make goals for ourselves which really helps us to accomplish more, and at each report card we get a present if we accomplish our goals. For my future as a college student I want to be able to get good grades but also have a social life. I will try not to stay out late. For my first year of college I will focus extra hard on my studies and focus on how college works. When I become older I want to become a successesful person. I want to own my own business and come far in life.

Progress in class

This week we have worked on a powerpoint on a Saint of our choice. I chose Saint Paul. This project has been easy and fun. I have learned alot about St. Paul that I never knew before. I am looking forward to presenting it to the class. I hope they enjoy watching my powerpoint and learn as much information as I did. We have to have at least 8 informational slides all together and an introductional and works cited page. It has been a nice experiance working with powerpoint and getting to know how it works.

Emotional goals

I have many emotional goals in my life that I would like to accomplish. My main goal is to come closer with my parents and make them more involved in my life. When I have something on my mind I will try to go to them for help and advice, or when I have a problem I will ask if we can just sit down for a little while and talk. Since switching to Notre Dame, I have made a ton of new friends that I love being with and everyone is very nice to be around. I am very happy that I switched schools and I feel that it is probably one of the best things I have done. My siblings are both younger than me so we are not that close. I hope to be very close to them one day when we are older and more mature. When we were little, we use to play together all the time and now that I have gotten older, I have gotten busier and haven't had time to hang out with them. At school I love all of my teachers. They are all very nice and try to help me succeed in school. I am a cheerleader and I enjoy my coaches very much. They try to make me a better cheerleader as well as making sure I have a positive attitude all the time.

Spiritual goal for myself this year

This year I plan to bring myself closer with God. I will set a time every day to devote my time to God. I will try to pray more each day. I will try to sin less. I will try to be more like Jesus Christ. I will think daily about Jesus to see him more clearly and to love him more. I will try to attend church every sunday no matter what the situation. I will try to change my behaviors that are bad. Just like Jesus wants us to be, I will try to be like his disciples. I love Christ and try to obey him as nuch as possible.

Progress in class

The first couple weeks of technology applications class have went very well. I have made alot of progress. Right now we are just finishing up making a slideshow to one of our favorite songs. We each got to pick one of our favorite songs, make slides for it, and as soon as we are all done with that we will put the slides all together to make a movie. This project is one of the most fun projects I have ever done because I love music and just taking a song and breaking it down into lines and putting pictures with it is just very neat and exciting to me. I am enjoying this class and look forwarrd to the rest of the quarter.

Progress in class

Hey, I'm Kaitlyn Minor and I attend PND high school. In technology applications class we have made aton ofprogress. We have started 3 projects already and they have been very interesting. We have to se pages and numbers instead of Microsoft word because the school got new computers. I find Microsoft word easier to use because I am more experienced with using them. In class we have done a research paper about a banned book of our choice and created two spread sheets. I found the research paper to be rather easy, but the spreadsheets were more difficult. Technology Applications class is one of my favorite classes because there is no real homework and you get to do many fun projects. We are just starting to start a project where we will be using a song to make a slide show and then make a movie. I am looking forward to the ret of the year in this class.
